| psychosocial
support |
During our work, we’ve realized many
programs of psychosocial support….
- for internaly displaced
people – to help them descend trauma and to make them
active and urge integration processes. We worked with children,
youngsters and women from Kosovo (year of 2000 – 2001).
- for Roma children and youth
in Belgrade suburb. Programs like “Road
Signs to Personal Treasure” (2001) and “Let’s
Learn Together” (2003) were realized in Roma Community
Center “April 8th”, in Mali mokri lug, with the intention to
empower children and youth and to offer various social skills.

| "ROAD SIGNS TO PERSONAL
TREASURE" |
- three months lasting project
- meant for Roma children and youth
- aimed for participants to explore their identity, value-system
and to become aware of their positive capacities and virtues.
Project included 2 age groups (children aged 6-10 and youngsters
aged 11-18).
Last workshop was held in Cinema “Rex” and, on that occasion,
there were both Roma children and youth and their age-mates
that are not of Roma nationality.

| "LET’S LEARN TOGETHER" |
realized in cooperation with Roma Community Center “April 8th’,
in Mali mokri lug.
This Center aims to promote education as an important component
of personal development, so the beneficiaries of the Center
are invited to participate in various educative programs, as
well as additional school classes. There arose the need for
teachers who work with children in the Center to get to know
the techniques of non-formal education. That why “Hajde da...”
Group has created a short non-formal education seminar for them.
At the same time, in April and May, as an example of non-formal
education, there have been organized dramma workshops for children
and youth. They were run by members of the two artistic groups
“Dah Theatre” and “ERGStatus Dancing Theatre”. Members of “Hajde
da...” Group and two young Roma girls from the Center were co-facilitators
on these workshops.
The participants were trying to find out how can you come to
the cooperation, starting from differencies. Younger group (aged
6-10) was exploring how can various plants and animals make
the harmonious world together. Older group (aged 11-18) were
thinking about coexistance of the four basic elements (fire,
water, earth and air). Within celebrating Djurdjevdan, the participants
performed, in a form of a theatre play, the outcomes of their
workshops.
Their age-mates from the non-Roma population were guests on
this celebration and presentation. That was the ideal opportunity
for Roma children to present a part of what they know and what
they can do and to share that with their coevals. |
